The Console That Defined Modern Mixing
The Liquid Level Chaos 4000 G is inspired by arguably the most important mixing console ever built. From the mid-1980s onward, this series became the standard in top-tier studios around the world — from legendary UK rooms to iconic studios in New York and Los Angeles.
In Retro Recordings XR, the LLC 4000 G is the first fully realised console. You can route audio through its channel strips, shape tone with the legendary parametric EQ, ride the faders, and commit your mix using the same workflow the legends used — all in virtual reality.
What Makes It Special
- Channel Strip: High and low pass filters, 4-band parametric EQ, dynamics section with compressor/limiter and gate/expander
- Bus Compressor: The iconic bus compressor — the glue that holds a mix together. Modelled with the same attack/release characteristics as the original hardware.
- Total Recall: Computer-assisted recall, allowing engineers to save and restore every setting on the desk. Our VR version takes this further with instant snapshot switching and motorized faders in stead of just VCA’s.
- Signal Flow: Visible, tactile signal flow from input to bus. Patch points, inserts, and aux sends behave exactly as they do on the real console.
A Piece of History You Can Touch
This console series was used to mix some of the most celebrated records in history — genre-defining albums across rock, pop, and hip-hop from the 1980s through today. This is not a plugin emulation — it is a spatial, physical recreation of the mixing experience that shaped modern music.
