The portable Ampex ATR-700 — a reel-to-reel tape recorder designed for commercial service. Compact rugged package suitable for location domains and full-time broadcasting. Half-track or full-track configurations, 7½–15 ips with frequency-response specs covering full-range stereo location work. "The Professional" — used by broadcasters, location recordists, and production facilities through the late 1970s and early 1980s.
