Audio & Design Recording
Outboard Pioneers
Audio & Design Recording (ADR), based in Reading, were best known for their outboard processing — the Scamp 500-series format predated API's similar standard, and the Compex limiter / Vocal Stressor were fixtures in British studios through the 1970s and 1980s.
While not primarily console manufacturers, ADR's signal-processing pedigree placed them firmly in the serious-pro-audio community alongside the British console brands.
