OXF-R3 (Oxford)
1997 – 2010
The OXF-R3 was Sony's statement that digital mixing could match the finest analog consoles in resolution, depth, and musical quality. Developed at Sony's Oxford Research Centre in England starting 1992. Its EQ, compression, and dynamics processing was so highly regarded that the algorithms were extracted and preserved as the Sonnox plugin suite — ensuring that the Oxford sound would outlast the hardware.
