Sound Workshop
American Studio Staple
Based in Hauppauge, New York, Sound Workshop became one of the most prolific American recording console manufacturers of the 1970s and 1980s. Their Series 30 was ubiquitous in US regional studios — clean sound, reasonable price, practical features.
The Logex 8 brought logic-controlled routing and early automation to Sound Workshop's lineup. The company was acquired by Otari in 1988, ending the brand but folding their expertise into Otari's growing console line.
