Patented Soundcraft routing
The Sapphyre was Soundcraft's post-production flagship — an in-line console built specifically for the video and film post-production workflow. Ingenious routing made it fast when working against the clock, a powerful noise gate on every channel kept dialogue and rough tracks clean, and unique features (patent-held at the time) kept the Sapphyre "in a class of its own". Marketed with the "Perfect Partnership" campaign targeting post-production houses and dubbing theatres, it offered an optional patchbay, fully balanced I/O, and Soundcraft's signature transparent sound at a price point well below the SSL Scenaria competitors.
