A smaller, more affordable companion to the Model 501 — electronically identical to the flagship except for one less band on the EQ. The original Grandson came in 18- and 24-input frames; the Grandson II (introduced 1976) expanded to 48 inputs / 24 mixing positions with the same modular per-channel construction. Aimed at studios who wanted Auditronics' Southern build quality and clean sound at a tighter price point than the 501.
