The 8088 was Neve's 88-channel large-format inline console, introduced alongside the 8078 in late 1978. Where the 8078 was a split-monitor desk aimed at production studios, the 8088 pushed the 80-series module architecture to its maximum channel count in an inline configuration — suited to the largest commercial studios tracking full orchestras or complex live-to-studio sessions. The same 1073 preamps, 1084 EQs, and Marinair transformers that defined the 8078 were deployed at scale.
